Let the Parade Begin

I have a bunch of FO’s to show you! To start off the parade, I have my ripple blanket!

Baby for scale!

This blanket is awesome! I almost want to keep it for myself! Almost, because I wouldn’t hear the end of it if I didn’t give it up.

As I was knitting, I wasn’t sure I would like finished product. I would like a section, then the next 5 rows would make me think it was going to look awful at the end. I used this random stripe generator to help me make decisions as to what to put next. I only modified a few rows because it was going to be two colors of almost the same color yarn next to each other. It didn’t take long to sew in the ends because I did the weaving of ends in sections, about 1/3 of the blanket as I finished a number of rows.  It is also nice and heavy, but not overly so but in a comforting fashion, and warm! It has met the requirements of the recipient, that it is big enough for two to snuggle under. And as a bonus, it is machine washable, which will help with keeping it nice and clean.

Now I want my own, and I am planning on what yarn to use. While this yarn (LB Homespun) is ok, it isn’t my cup of tea. I want one in wool, and I don’t know if I want a wavy yarn like this one. I also have ideas about future gifts for family, although I think that would be even farther away than my own!

Keep tuned in for more FO’s I have been neglecting! (seriously, anyone paying attention on Ravelry must think I am the most prolific knitter!)
